About me

It’s taken me a long time to write this because I desperately wanted my bio to communicate my heart for counseling, people, and the work that I do, but I also feel that words fall short when you’re trying to communicate something so intimate. First of all, you are brave for taking a step toward deeper healing, and I am honored that you might consider me as a support alongside you in your journey. Whether this is your first time seeking counseling or your 10th time, I hope to encourage and help empower you in your fight to become who you want to be. Whatever next step you decide to take, I hope the best for you.

My biggest hope is that you find healing and rest through working with me, and while I strive to meet you where you’re at and provide counseling based upon that, I use an attachment based approach along with EFT, ERP, ACT, and DBT modalities. I specialize in OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and gender dysphoria/identity exploration.

In all that I do, I hope to encourage you toward healing from past or current wounds, tools & techniques for being in what is presently going on in your life, & hope for making your future life the one in which you want to be. As Doc Brown says, "Your future hasn’t been written yet. No one’s has! Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one!”

Training & experience

Originally from Atlanta, I moved to Nashville to start my practice in 2019. I graduated from Wheaton College with an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and from Kennesaw State University with a B.S. in Psychology. I am licensed to practice counseling in the state of Tennessee as an LPC-MHSP. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and am a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association (TLPCA). I am specifically trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and utilize tools from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment-Based Principles, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also work frequently with gender dysphoria/exploration and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

I have worked in various therapeutic settings including hospitals, schools, in-home services, and private practice. My belief is that at its core, counseling is about relationships. I am amazed by the beauty that is created when one is given the space to rest, be, and feel safe and valued. You have a voice in your life and a say in the steps you take, and my hope is that you can hear that voice more clearly than before. Broadly defined, my sessions are typically a combination of processing deeply while simultaneously equipping you with the skills to manage life in the present. My hope is that you are given the tools in counseling to be able to live life currently, to feel at peace with life in the past, and to more confidently walk through life in the future.
