Our Methods

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy is the most common form of treatment for OCD. It works using a structured approach to tackling your OCD, analysing how you think and then making small incremental changes to transform your current obsessive form of thinking.

Research has shown that 75% of people who use CBT as a treatment for their OCD has seen improvements in their symptoms.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a branch of CBT and works on the basis of accepting the thoughts of our mind and feelings of our body as just a product of OCD and nothing more.

ACT focuses on finding a way to allow obsessions and anxiety to come and go without interfering with the way one lives his or her life.

ERP

Exposure and Response Prevention refers to exposing yourself to the thoughts, images, objects and situations that make you anxious and/or start your obsessions.

Eventually your mind will become so used to these triggers that it naturally removes all anxiety attached.

Mindfulness

The principles of mindfulness attempt to move attention away from the thoughts in your head and focus on your environment and body.

About us

Impulse was founded by Jamal Asskoumi, an OCD suffered just like yourself.

After years of rumination, obsession and anxiety, Jamal embarked on his journey of CBT. Through which he managed to break the cycle of OCD, and live the life he had missed for so long.

Impulse has been created as an alternative to traditional therapy. Booking a single session of therapy with an OCD specialist is extremely expensive. We wanted to offer all of the techniques, knowledge and advice you’d receive from a qualified psychiatrist at your fingertips.

In the US alone over 3 million people are suffering from OCD, yet, of these three million, so few truly understand what is happening within their mind.

We wanted this to change.

Our goal is to support as many OCD sufferers as we can.

What is Impulse?

Your luggage will be delivered at a pre-determined time and place of your choice, within the Greater Toronto Area. Due to traffic and logistical factors, we ask the delivery time be no sooner than 4 hours after luggage pick-up. For example, if you would like your luggage picked up at Person airport at 10am, we can drop your luggage back to you at your hotel at 2pm or later
