Jason von Stietz, PhD
About me
I am a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical and sport psychology. I began at the CBT Center of Southern California shortly after earning my PhD in clinical psychology in 2018. I primarily work with people with OCD, insomnia, trichotillomania, and various anxiety disorders. I also help athletes and performers of all kinds to perform at the upper range of their abilities. I am a member of the International OCD Foundation's Anxiety in Athlete's Task Force, which is aimed at providing education and resources to athletes suffering from OCD.
Training & experience
I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California Professional School of Psychology at Alliant International University, Los Angeles with a specialized focus in health psychology. I completed a predoctoral internship and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Whittier College Counseling Center. I held a joint position between the Counseling Center and Athletic Department as Whittier College’s inaugural sport psychology postdoctoral fellow. I completed clinical training at Los Angeles Valley College Student Psychological Services and at Santa Anita Family Service. I also completed specialized sport psychology training at the Major League Baseball Youth Academy in Compton.
